Girl Code Media was founded with a simple yet powerful mission: to change the negative social norms within girl culture and empower women to be their sisters’ keepers. Born out of personal experiences of being hurt by other women, our founder realized the need for a supportive, empowering community. Our vision is to create a world where women are each other’s strongest allies, promoting personal growth, mutual respect, and empowerment.
At the heart of Girl Code Media are the values of faith, empathy, integrity, community, empowerment, vulnerability and respect. These principles guide everything we do, from the stories we share to the experts we interview. Unlike other media companies, we focus exclusively on positive stories, expert insights, and actionable advice to foster strong, supportive female friendships.
Our mission is to redefine female relationships by challenging negative social norms among women and girls, promoting healthier personal and professional bonds. Media portrayals often perpetuate negative stereotypes, diminishing the worth of women and leading us to undervalue each other. To counter this, we are changing the narrative through media, programming, transformative Girl Talk conversations, and our community building initiatives to empower women and girls. We emphasize sisterhood, moral excellence, leadership, and social education while embracing the principles of Girl Code.
Through our podcast, we’ve helped countless women heal from past hurts and build stronger, healthier relationships. Our listeners share their journeys of transformation and empowerment, inspiring others to do the same. Looking ahead, we aim to expand Girl Code Media by adding more empowering shows, hosting live events, and creating a global sisterhood where every woman feels valued and supported.
Join us on this journey to rewrite the narrative of girl culture and empower women everywhere. Together, we can be the change we want to see. How we got started
In the year of 2021, a young girl by the name of Ma'Khia Bryant, who was only 16 years of age, was unfortunately killed by a police officer. This occurred after she was involved in a physical altercation, which she had called the police about prior to the event. Due to her mishandling of the situation, she was perceived as the aggressor and the police used lethal force. In light of this tragedy, I felt compelled to take action by creating media that highlights the detrimental effects of female rivalry. My efforts led to an overwhelming response, which motivated me to spend the rest of the year organizing community "Girl Talks" throughout Ohio. These events provided a safe space for women and girls to connect with one another, share their experiences, and collaborate on solutions to combat the negative aspects of girl culture. Our goal is to continue spreading this message of love and sisterhood globally through our Girl Talks, You Can Sit With Us events, and programming.
